Primary Fermenting in a bucket

I've read that u should not use plastic containers because they're permeable, but I've been doing this for a yr or more, w/ no ill effect, it seems to me that w/the yeast kicking off co2, the bucket as my primary, it is under pressure, so it's not gonna allow any outside air into the bucket. Besides, buckets are a whole lot easier to lug to the basement than a glass carboy. I do use glass for my secondary tho. Thoughts?
