Within posts and comments to posts, you may use plain old markdown for formatting

For example, entering: #### This is a title

will result in

This is a title

Mentioning

You may mention other users or breweries by their handle. This will provide a link to the user and notify the user that they were mentioned:

Hey, what's up @brewpoo?

Tagging

Posts and comments can be tagged using a hashtag. This will provide a link to other posts with the same tag:

This is #BrewingHub

One caveat here is to not place the hashtag as the first character on a line. If you do it will be interpreted as markdown instead!

Embedding video/pics

You may embed pictures using any flickr link or link directly to an image file
